Lithium Battery Upgrade Option in the Newmar Freedom Aire Video
The Newmar Freedom Aire offers an optional lithium battery system designed to provide greater off-grid capability and support an all-electric RV setup without the need for LP.
The lithium upgrade features Lithionics lithium-ion batteries with NeverDie® reserve technology and UL 1973 certification. The system provides up to 12,399 watt-hours, or 960 amp-hours, of battery capacity and is paired with a Victron 3,000-watt pure sine wave inverter.
The batteries can be recharged several ways, including a secondary under-hood alternator while driving, shore power, or two flexible 120-watt roof-mounted solar panels. An MPPT solar charge controller also allows for additional solar capacity through the rooftop or driver-side ground-level quick-connect port.
With greater usable energy than traditional lead-acid batteries, the lithium system can power the Freedom Aire’s electrical components for longer periods without hookups. This includes the air conditioner, Timberline hydronic heating and hot water system, induction cooktop, and other onboard systems.
For RVers looking to spend more time away from traditional hookups, the optional lithium system provides the Freedom Aire with the power and flexibility for extended off-grid adventures.
