FOREST CITY, IOWA, May 2026 – Earlier this month, at the Forest City Education Foundation Senior Awards Night, the Hope and Ron Lichtsinn Family Scholarship was given, reflecting the consistent support from the Lichtsinn family towards the growth of the Forest City community and overall North Iowa area. This represents the 22nd consecutive year that the Lichtsinn Family has provided a scholarship to Forest City High School seniors.
The Lichtsinn Family Scholarship is awarded each year to a Forest City High School Senior/s who has/have met minimum GPA requirements and has/have displayed progressive participation in extracurricular activities such as volunteerism, academic groups, the arts, or sports.

This year there were two recipients of the Lichtsinn Family Scholarship. Chole Hennigar was selected, not only for her strong work studies, but her involvement with activities throughout high school including track and the Indian Pals mentorship program.
The 2nd recipient was Ty Sopko who was selected for his work ethic, athletic achievements in football, basketball and track, and his genuine ability to welcome and connect with new students both at school and within the community. He represents not only his class, but the heart of Forest City.
