New Winnebago Travato: Upgrades and Enhancements

Winnebago Travato: Upgrades and Enhancements

Exterior Styling & Equipment

Recent changes to the Winnebago Travato have included it receiving a fresh look with updated exterior paint options that provide the popular camper van a sleeker, more modern appearance. New exterior colors include Bright White, Ceramic Gray, Bright Silver, and Sandstone. Each of these exterior colors includes the option of a deluxe upgrade, which provides slight changes to the exterior trim appearance, including a painted front cab area, rear bumpers, and wheel wells.

Not only have exterior paint options been upgraded, but some exterior equipment has been improved outside the Travato as well. One of these includes the 13′ Girard, powered patio awning that replaces the previous Carefree awning. This new armless awning provides not only superior strength and durability, but it is also rack-mounted and efficiently operates either via Bluetooth through your smart device or from the switch inside the van.

Another significant upgrade to the Travato is the SmartPlug shore power connection, which provides a safer and more efficient solution to the previous twist-lock application. This method of shore connection maximizes electrical transfer by reducing the likelihood of overheating. The connection is also equipped with a multi-point locking system that automatically clicks into place and provides a watertight seal. The connection includes an LED power indicator light so you can be assured that it is connected securely.

On the exterior of the Travato, you will also find an exterior water fill that eliminates the need to open the double rear doors of the van to refill your freshwater tank. This allows you to keep a consistent temperature inside the coach since you don’t have to open the doors to refill your freshwater. You can also leave your city water attached when using campground facilities, providing ease of use and greater convenience.

Interior Improvements

Inside the Travato, you will again find modern styling with refined finishes and updated materials throughout each floorplan that not only elevate the look and feel of the camper van but also improve functionality and create a more comfortable space. One such improvement is the addition of thermal cab window coverings with a silver backing that help to insulate the coach better to improve thermal performance across the seasons while also providing near blackout conditions. The convenient Anything Keeper baskets and USB charging outlets have been moved to different locations to avoid interfering with the sleeping areas of the camper van. Also, the water pump switch has been moved into the galley at the front of the sink, providing more efficient use.

Power Systems

Recent innovations implemented in the Winnebago Travato introduce significant upgrades to power capabilities, keeping you on the road comfortably and for longer. Standard roof-mounted solar has been increased from 215 to 245 watts, extending battery life during use or storage. You may choose to expand your solar capabilities beyond this as well with the installed junction box and plugs for additional solar panels. This added capacity offers generator-free power to keep your appliances, including the refrigerator, lights, fans, and more, running, even while boondocking. These solar panels are manufactured by Merlin Solar and boast multiple advantages, including lightweight construction, 20% more energy than similar systems, increased durability, and more. The Merlin Solar panels are built to withstand tough conditions without compromising integrity. Beyond these upgrades in solar capacity, the additional power solutions will remain the same as previous years, with (2) AGM batteries, a 2,800-watt generator, and a 1,000-watt pure sine wave inverter.

The Travato 59KL, a lithium-powered floorplan, includes the new Winnebago Power MAX system, which takes energy management to another level of efficiency. A key part of this new system is the Winnebago x EcoFlow Power Hub Pro, a 5-in-1 power management system that combines solar, shore power, alternator, and lithium-ion battery power into one powerful system. The Power Max system includes an 8.4kWh Lithionics lithium-ion battery with dual alternator charging capability. It is Bluetooth-controlled and includes a pack heating system.

Heating System

An additional available upgrade to the Winnebago Travato is the Truma Combi G Comfort Plus system that replaces the previous propane-powered Truma Combi Eco Plus. While the Truma Combi G comfort plus is also compactly designed and remains in the same location as previous years, it is Truma’s first gasoline-powered system that provides a single solution for both warm air and hot water in one smart appliance. It is also important to note that Winnebago is now the first manufacturer to market this all-new system.

With updated styling and advanced equipment, the 2026 Winnebago Travato continues to set the standard in camper vans by providing comfort, efficiency, and innovation. Speak with a Lichtsinn RV Sales Consultant today to learn more about the Winnebago Travato!
