The IRS recently updated guidance on this for customers in states with no sales tax and for other fees associated with the new stimulus deduction… this provides two clarifications:
1. Other fees associated can be deducted: It was previously believed that new car buyers would only be able to deduct the sales tax on their vehicle.
2. Customers in states with no sales tax deduct other fees or taxes imposed by the state or local government
