OVERVIEW

What is the difference between the Winnebago Vista vs. Sunstar?

Answer: This is one of the most common questions we get on the Vista and Sunstar, Vista vs. Sunstar. The answer quite simply is: The name. The Sunstar is a legacy name from when Winnebago Brands included the Itasca line of RVs. At that time Winnebago offered the Winnebago Vista and the Itasca Sunstar. Even at that time, there were very few differences between the Winnebago Vista and Itasca Sunstar. (Depending on the model year the differences were more extensive. However, towards the end of life of the Itasca Brand they were very similar.) The reason for both brands to exist was simply that some dealers were authorized to sell the Sunstar and some the Vista. Lichtsinn RV was one of the few Winnebago dealerships that was authorized to sell both.

Answer: The Winnebago Vista and Winnebago Sunstar floorplans range from 28’5” to 35’ in length.

How tall is the Winnebago Vista and how tall is the Winnebago Sunstar?

Answer: The exterior height on the Winnebago Vista and the Winnebago Sunstar ranges from 12’3” to 12’5” dependent on floorplan. The exterior height of each model is measured to the top of the tallest standard feature and is based on the curb weight of a typically equipped unit. The actual height of the RV may vary by several inches depending on chassis, A/C or equipment variations. The interior height measures 6’8” on each floorplan in the Winnebago Vista and Winnebago Sunstar.

How wide is the Winnebago Vista and how wide is the Winnebago Sunstar?

Answer: The exterior width of the Winnebago Vista and the Winnebago Sunstar is 8’5.5” while the interior width is 8’.5”.

FLOORPLANS

What are the Winnebago Vista Floorplans? What are the Winnebago Sunstar Floorplans?

Answer: The Winnebago Vista and Winnebago Sunstar are each available in 5 floorplans ranging from 28’5” in length to 35’ in length and sleep 5-7 people dependent on floorplan.

The Vista 27P and the Sunstar 27P is the shortest of the floorplans at 28’5” in length and features driver side dual slideouts that house the dinette, kitchen and the rear king-sized bed. You may choose between a sofa bed or the optional theater seating across from the dinette area.

The Vista 29V and the Sunstar 29V measure 30” in length. This floorplan features one large full length slideout housing your choice of a sofa bed or theater seating, the kitchen and bedroom storage. The all-in-one bath and dinette are located on the passenger side of this coach.

The Vista 31B and the Sunstar 31B measure 31’2” in length. This floorplan features one large driver side full length slideout that houses the dinette, kitchen, bunk beds and bedroom wardrobe storage. It boasts a large all-in-one bath and a spacious sofa bed located across from the dinette.

The Vista 32M and the Sunstar 32M measure 31’9” in length. This double slideout floorplan in includes a king-sized bed in the passenger side slideout and the dinette and your choice of sofa bed or theater seating in the driver side slideout.

And finally, the longest of the floorplans, the Vista 35U and the Sunstar 35U floorplan measures 35’ in length. This double slideout floorplan includes a king-sized bed and wardrobe in the passenger side slideout. It features a dinette and your choice of sofa bed or theater seating in the driver side slideout. The large all-in-one bathroom includes a spacious vanity and shower.

You may have heard these floorplans referred to as the Winnebago Vista 29V or the Winnebago Vista 29VE. When Winnebago reintroduced the Vista and Sunstar floorplans, many of them had an “E” on the end. However, the Winnebago Vista 31B vs. 31BE are the same floorplan. The Winnebago Vista 29V vs. 29VE is also the same floorplan etc.

The Winnebago Vista with the Outdoor Kitchen and the Winnebago Sunstar with the Outdoor Kitchen are the 29V and 31B floorplans. The Outdoor Kitchen, also referred to as the Tailgate Package, includes a refrigerator, 3-drawer cabinet, LED lights, Quick-Connect LP hose, steel sink, wall mounted bottle opener, garage bag holder and a paper towel holder.

The Winnebago Vista with Bunk Beds and the Winnebago Sunstar with Bunk Beds is the 31B floorplan. These bunks beds include foam mattresses, mattress covers and a privacy curtain. You may choose to add (2) DVD Players with a 10.1” LCD monitor and headphones to the bunk bed area so that each bed has its own monitor.

The Winnebago Vista with a King Bed and the Winnebago Sunstar with a King Bed are the 27P, 32M and the 35U floorplans.

COST

How much does a Winnebago Vista Cost? How much does the Winnebago Sunstar Cost?  

Answer: The base MSRP price of a Winnebago Vista and Winnebago Sunstar built on the Ford F53 Chassis starts at $176,822 and varies by floorplan. Most items on the Vista and Sunstar are standard, however, there are options that you may choose that would increase the cost of the MSRP. The most significant variance in price is based on the addition of the Cooling Upgrade Package (available in 27P, 29V, 32M and 31B only). This option adds (2) 13,500 BTUs Air Conditioners (vs. the standard (1) 15,000 BTUs Air Conditioner). The option also includes a 50-amp power cord (vs. standard 30-amp) and a 5,500-watt Cummins Onan Microquiet gas generator (vs. standard 4,000-watt.)

Other options that will increase the MSRP of the Vista and Sunstar include the addition of a video camera system with side view activation from the turn signal, a powered StudioLoft Bed with ladder, Theater Seating (n/a 31B), a microwave/convection oven (vs. standard microwave), a large oven, bedroom TV and the solar panel battery charge system option.   • Discard the Cold Water Filter
  • Drain Water Heater
  • Follow Winterization Valve Process
  • Pour RV Antifreeze Down Each Drain
  • Drain Sewage and Waste Water Holding Tanks
  • Close Dump Valves
  • Ensure proper air circulation inside of your Vista or Sunstar
  • Ensure the air inside your Vista or Sunstar is dry
  • Ensure the tires are properly inflated and store it parked on dry surface if possible
  • Wash the Vista and Sunstar Exterior
  • Ensure the Fuel is fresh
