The Winnebago Touring Coach Travato hit the market in 2014 on the Ram ProMaster 280-hp, 3.6L V6 gas engine and has appealed to a wide market. Now new to this model is the optional diesel engine chassis!
This incredibly efficient diesel engine rated to achieve 22 mpg is mated to a class-exclusive automated clutch less manual transmission, providing 174 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque on the 9,350 GVWR chassis. Both engines have a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The low load floor and great forward visibility provide a great ride on the Winnebago Travato!! Ram ProMaster is a full-size van, primarily configured for commercial duty, however Winnebago Industries has created an RV that appeals to the adventurous explorer and makes outdoor living easier.
The ProMaster follows an established design; it’s closely related to the Fiat Ducato, of which Fiat has sold more than 4.7 million units worldwide. There’s a utilitarian aesthetic to the design of the ProMaster, especially on the outside. It has a sense of identity in front, with the hexagonal crosshair grille and Ram logo. The front bumper is a three-piece design that can easily be replaced in part, if there are minor fender-benders, and the bumper corners include steps for keeping the windshield clean.
With two high performance chassis, the Winnebago Travato will no doubt continue to appeal to the adventurous RV market!
