In a standard RV, you have to have a secondary engine, generator or other solution to power all of your devices. However, the Winnebago Travato 59KL and 59GL include a standard 3-module lithium-ion energy pack that produces up to 58 volts, an equivalent of over 9,000 usable watt-hours. You may also choose to add the 4-module Pure3 System to your Travato which provides a powerful 12,000 usable watt-hours. The Lithium Pure3 system in these models allows you to run any device in the coach and maintain charge at all times, even when driving. This is unlike traditional solutions where you can run devices such as the air conditioning system, but doing so will discharge your batteries as you travel. This means that by the time you would arrive at your destination with a traditional solution, you may already be out of energy.

With the Volta Pure3 Energy Management System in the Winnebago Travato, simply turn on the system, start your drive, and run all of your devices during your journey. Harvest the energy from the engine, keep your battery charged, and you’re ready to go when you reach your campsite. It is reliable, seamless and virtually maintenance-free so you can focus on your adventure, not on how you will get the power you need for your adventure.

One of the unique things about Volta system is it requires a higher rpm in order to charge properly, so it will not be able to charge from the chassis engine at idle. This is in part due to the fact that today’s modern engines are generally all designed around emissions with just the right balance when idle. It is best to not put any additional load on your engine when at a low idle point. Instead, the system is best utilized at high idle set points which are usually around 1,000-1,500 rpm.

When driving down the road or trail, a big advantage of having the Volta power system attached to the engine is the ability to harvest potential waste energy. Engines are designed to operate at peak power, and anytime it is not running at peak power, it is not as efficient as it could be. When you are driving down the road in a Lithium powered Travato, the alternator is actually still below the peak power of the engine, and that extra waste energy will go right into your battery tank for later use.

The Volta Pure3 Energy System is one of the most advanced and easy-to-use lithium systems available for the RV market. Contact a Lichtsinn RV Sales Consultant to learn more about this system and the Winnebago Travato!
